About Handsy Golf
The Short Version
Handsy Golf started because I got tired of looking down at the same boring black rubber every time I addressed the ball. Golf is supposed to be fun. Your grips should reflect that.
The Longer Version
My name is Jack. I grew up playing golf in Colorado, grinding through high school tournaments where a three-footer to save par felt like life or death. I was good enough to think college golf was the move. I was also honest enough with myself to figure out pretty quickly that it wasn't.
That realization stung at the time. But it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. Golf stopped being a pressure cooker and started being the thing I actually loved again. No coach tracking my stats. No early morning qualifying rounds. Just me, my buddies, and a tee time.
Fast forward to now. I work in tech sales during the week, live up in Evergreen, Colorado with my wife and our two little boys, and play as much golf as fatherhood and a mortgage will allow. Which, if you're a parent, you know the answer is "not nearly enough."
A few years ago I started paying more attention to my equipment. Not the clubs (that rabbit hole never ends) but the stuff you actually touch every single swing. Your grips. And I couldn't believe how little had changed. The same black rubber. The same cord options. The same recycled designs from brands that haven't updated their look since your dad was breaking 90.
Meanwhile, golf culture was evolving everywhere else. Shoes got interesting. Polos got louder. Headcovers became a whole personality. But grips? Still stuck in 2005.
So I started Handsy Golf.
What We Actually Make
We design golf grips that perform like the ones already in your bag but look like something you'd actually want to show off. Bold patterns. Real color. Designs that make your playing partners do a double-take when you pull a club.
Every grip is built from a high-quality rubber compound that gives you the traction and weather resistance you need. These aren't novelty grips. They're real grips with real performance, just without the boring part.
We're based in Evergreen, Colorado. It's a small mountain town about 45 minutes west of Denver, and if you've ever played golf at altitude, you know the ball flies different up here. Everything about this brand was born out of the Colorado golf scene, where the season is short, the rounds are fast, and nobody takes themselves too seriously.
Why "Handsy"?
Because golf is a hands sport. Your grip is literally the only connection between you and the club. If you're going to obsess over shaft flex and launch angle (and we all do), you should probably care about the thing your hands are wrapped around for four hours.
Also, it's a little cheeky. And that's kind of the point.
Who This Is For
If you've ever matched your belt to your shoes on the course, this is for you. If you've ever swapped out your stock headcovers for something with a little more personality, this is for you. If you think golf should be taken seriously but not that seriously, you're in the right place.
We're not trying to replace Golf Pride or Lamkin. Those are great grips. We're just here to give you an option that doesn't put you to sleep when you look down at your hands.
What's Next
Handsy Golf is still early. We're a small operation, I won't pretend otherwise. But we're building something real. New designs are in the works. We're constantly testing materials and textures to make sure these grips hold up round after round. And we're listening to what golfers actually want, because at the end of the day, this brand exists for the players, not the pros.
If you want to follow along, the best place is our Instagram. If you want to try a set, the shop is right here. And if you want to tell me about your game or your favorite course in Colorado, I'm always down to talk golf.
Thanks for being here.
